Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, biopsychosocial assessments, and diagnostic interviews.
  • Formulate diagnoses and create individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, monitoring response and side effects.
  • Provide individual psychotherapy and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans when clinically indicated; document encounters promptly in the EHR.
  • Coordinate care with other providers, educate patients and families, and participate in case consultations and treatment team meetings.

Daily work centers on independent clinical decision-making within a collaborative outpatient framework.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must possess current credentials for independent psychiatric practice in Maryland and be prepared to deliver both pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic care.

Education
MSN or DNP from an accredited Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program
Licensure & Board Certification
Active unrestricted Maryland Nurse Practitioner license and PMHNP-BC certification
Prescriptive Authority
Current DEA registration authorizing psychotropic medications
Clinical Experience
Minimum two years providing psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management in an outpatient or behavioral health setting
Scope Requirement
Ability and willingness to provide psychotherapy in addition to medication management
Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual Spanish; prior experience with eClinicalWorks

Compensation & Benefits
