Nursing Assistant, Med Surg in San Francisco, CA

On a medical-surgical unit the Nursing Assistant functions as the primary bedside support partner to the Registered Nurse. Accurate observation of patient status, prompt reporting of changes, and reliable completion of assigned basic care tasks allow the RN to focus on assessment and care planning. At CPMC Davies Campus in San Francisco this support occurs within an inpatient acute-care setting under direct RN supervision. The role requires CNA certification, BLS for Healthcare Providers, and either prior acute-care Nursing Assistant experience or current nursing-student status. Because the work centers on comfort, safety, and timely communication rather than independent clinical decision-making, it offers structured exposure to hospital-based medical-surgical care for qualified CNAs and nursing students seeking per-diem evening shifts.
