🩹 Core Clinical Procedures & Daily Practice

This role centers on delivering comprehensive wound care within a collaborative outpatient environment. You will manage a wide range of acute and chronic wounds while working closely with nursing staff and specialty colleagues.

  • Perform wound debridement, hematoma evacuation, biologic dressing applications, and biopsies
  • Provide supervision and support to certified wound and ostomy nurses
  • Participate in operative debridement and skin grafting based on experience and comfort level
  • Coordinate care across South Sacramento, Sacramento, and Roseville campuses
  • Engage in multidisciplinary rounds and case discussions with podiatry, vascular, plastics, and endocrinology teams

✅ Qualifications & Experience Needed

Education & Certification

MD or DO with Board Certification or Eligibility in a relevant specialty; strong wound care experience required

Clinical Background

Experience in outpatient wound care clinic or academic medical center preferred

Preferred Training

Surgical, hyperbaric medicine, or vascular medicine background welcomed but not required

California License

Current or eligible for California medical license and DEA registration

⏱ Schedule & Work-Life Balance

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with dedicated lunch hour
  • Call Requirement: None currently required
  • Practice Locations: Primarily South Sacramento with regular presence at Sacramento and Roseville sites
  • Support Staff: Dedicated medical assistants and extended-role wound/ostomy nurses at each site

You will join an established wound and ostomy service with certified nurses functioning in advanced roles. Close working relationships exist with podiatric wound care specialists, vascular surgeons, endocrinologists, orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons, nutritionists, and social workers.

This integrated approach allows for comprehensive patient management and streamlined referrals within the Kaiser system.
