Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct clinical care to critically ill newborns and premature infants using conventional and high-frequency ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide, and therapeutic whole-body hypothermia.
  • Manage pre-surgical support for complex congenital heart disease and pre-ECMO patients in collaboration with pediatric surgical and medical subspecialists.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and hospital committees aimed at maintaining outcomes above regional benchmarks.
  • Teach residents and fellows while providing outreach education across the referral network.
  • Coordinate care during transport of high-acuity neonates from referring facilities across the 27-county region.

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must meet core board and licensing standards for Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine practice in California. Additional clinical experience and interest in program development are preferred.
