What to Expect in This School-Based PT Role

This Pittsburgh school-based physical therapy assignment places the clinician within an educational setting where therapy services are connected to students’ ability to participate in school activities. The position is structured around a defined elementary-school environment rather than a hospital, outpatient clinic, or rotating clinical assignment. The day-to-day practice context includes working alongside school personnel and other professionals involved in student support, with physical therapy delivered as part of the broader educational program. Documentation and communication are important because student services operate within school processes and individualized educational planning. The assignment may be particularly relevant to physical therapists who prefer a predictable school setting, a focused student population, and work that connects functional mobility with participation in education. The position is offered as a local contract in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and continues through the posted June 2, 2027 end date.

Is This Pittsburgh School PT Contract a Good Fit?

This opportunity may be a strong match for a physical therapist who wants school-based practice in Pittsburgh and is comfortable working within an elementary educational environment. The assignment is best suited to candidates who value a defined contract term and a focused school setting rather than seeking a traditional full-time clinic or hospital position. It can also fit clinicians interested in maintaining or developing experience with educationally based physical therapy, where collaboration with school teams is part of the professional environment. Before accepting the assignment, candidates should review the stated Pennsylvania credential requirements, confirm the exact interpretation of the listed 4.00-hour schedule, and discuss the school’s day-to-day expectations with the staffing representative. These points can help a candidate determine whether the contract matches their availability, professional background, and preferred practice setting.
