Frequently Asked Questions

The model is private-duty and one-to-one. Assignments typically keep the nurse with a single patient for the duration of the shift rather than requiring multi-stop visits in one day.
Are both pediatric and adult cases available?
Yes. Opportunities exist with pediatric and/or adult patients depending on current openings and clinical match in the Orlando service area.
What should I clarify about a specific case before accepting an assignment?
Candidates should confirm the patient’s clinical needs, expected schedule, location and commute, any specialized care requirements, and available support resources before accepting a particular case.
Who provides clinical support while I am in a patient’s home?
Dedicated local clinical and office support is available to nurses working on home assignments.
Is a sign-on bonus guaranteed?
A sign-on bonus may be available. Applicants should ask the recruiter for current eligibility and amount at the time of application.
Do benefits apply equally to full-time, part-time, and PRN status?
Benefit eligibility depends on employment status. Specifics are confirmed during the hiring process according to the schedule selected.

What to Expect in This Homecare LPN Role

Working as a homecare LPN differs from practicing on a hospital floor, skilled nursing unit, or busy outpatient schedule. Most clinical work occurs in the patient’s residence, where the nurse organizes care around the individual’s condition, established care plan, and home environment. The role requires professional judgment, clear documentation, and consistent communication while operating with less immediate access to the resources found in a facility. Nurses should be comfortable adapting to the patient’s routine, maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries in a private home, and communicating observations to the appropriate members of the care team. Because assignments may involve ongoing cases, the nurse can become familiar with the patient’s baseline condition, daily routines, and family or caregiver communication patterns over time. This setting is particularly suited to LPNs who prefer focused clinical interaction and continuity of care.

Care Approach Individualized nursing within the patient’s established plan of care
Daily Environment Patient residence rather than a hospital or nursing-facility unit
Professional Practice Independent organization of assigned care with access to clinical support
Continuity Opportunity to become familiar with an ongoing patient’s baseline and care routine

Is This Homecare LPN Position Right for You?

This position may be a strong fit for LPNs who value focused patient interaction, continuity, and the ability to concentrate on one patient’s care rather than moving between multiple patients throughout a facility. It may also suit nurses who are comfortable adapting clinical routines to a home environment and communicating professionally with patients, families, caregivers, and members of the healthcare team. The role can be less suitable for clinicians who strongly prefer the constant pace, equipment access, and large interdisciplinary environment of a hospital or facility. Before accepting an assignment, candidates should consider the specific patient population, clinical needs, expected schedule, commute to the patient’s residence, and any assignment-specific requirements discussed during the hiring process. These factors can vary between individual homecare cases even when the position title and general employment terms remain the same.

May Suit LPNs who prefer focused one-to-one patient care and continuity
Professional Strengths Organization, observation, communication, reliability, and clinical follow-through
Consider Before Accepting Patient assignment, commute, clinical needs, schedule, and case-specific expectations
Different From Facility Care Less emphasis on a large unit environment and more emphasis on an individual home-based assignment
