Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture for blood collection, along with obtaining specimens for microbiological testing.
  • Conduct electrocardiography, respiratory testing, urinalysis, hematology, chemistry, immunology, and microbiology testing as ordered.
  • Obtain vital signs, record patient history, prepare examination and treatment areas, and assist practitioners during routine and specialty examinations as well as minor office procedures.
  • Prepare and administer medications according to pharmacology principles, maintain medication and immunization records, and screen and follow up on test results.
  • Handle sterilization techniques, wrap items for autoclaving, dispose of biohazardous materials, practice Standard Precautions, and perform telephone and in-person patient screening.

Daily work also includes instructing patients on clean-catch mid-stream urine and fecal specimen collection and coordinating related administrative tasks that support clinic flow.

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must hold both Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy certifications; applications without both will not be considered. Bilingual proficiency is mandatory.
