Responsibilities

  • Obtain comprehensive or focused health histories and perform physical examinations for new and established patients.
  • Order laboratory tests, imaging, diagnostic studies, and consultations; review and interpret results to formulate care plans.
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions consistent with specialty standards of care and practice guidelines.
  • Educate and counsel patients and caregivers on disease management, prevention, and health promotion, taking into account age, education, psychosocial needs, and cultural background.
  • Coordinate care through consultation with attending physicians, specialists, residents, nursing staff, and other providers.
  • Document clinical encounters according to best-practice standards and participate in performance-improvement activities, educational efforts, and research protocols when applicable.

Selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures may be performed depending on departmental training and delineation of privileges.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must hold current New York State licensure and required certifications. Clinical experience is preferred; interest in teaching is valued.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range is published in accordance with New York City Human Rights Law requirements for positions hired for NYC offices.
