Responsibilities

  • Assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care through the full nursing process while coordinating and delegating as appropriate.
  • Conduct phone triage, communicate abnormal test results, and provide corresponding care instructions to patients and families.
  • Administer medications according to the six rights, adjusting for patient age and clinical condition.
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedures, therapies, treatments, and pain management; document responses to teaching.
  • Create and update individualized plans of care that address identified needs, continuum of care, and discharge planning.

The nurse maintains ANA standards while interacting with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team and participates in shared governance and quality activities.
