Responsibilities

  • Assess and provide therapeutic counseling to individuals, families, and groups with general mental health and substance use concerns, working within the counselor’s education, skills, training, licensure, and privileging.
  • Deliver behavioral health prevention and education services oriented toward a primarily Spanish-speaking community.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, billing, and program audit support.
  • Participate in case staffing meetings and peer review sessions.
  • Collaborate with the internal care team and external providers for shared patients to support coordinated care and follow-up.

Work is evaluated for adherence to established policies, procedures, and best practices in behavioral health service delivery. The position reports to the Behavioral Health Coordinator at the assigned site.

Qualifications & Requirements

A master’s degree and active Arizona associate-level licensure are required. Clinical supervision is provided. Experience serving diverse or underserved populations is preferred.

Education
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or a related field
Licensure
Active and unrestricted AZBBHE license as LMSW, LAC, or LAMFT
Preferred Experience
Three years of specialized experience in mental health and/or substance use with diverse populations; experience with underserved communities is highly preferred
Employment Requirements
Valid Arizona driver’s license (obtainable within 30 days if out-of-state) meeting agency standards, Class I Fingerprint Clearance Card within 90 days, substance abuse testing, current TB test, BLS certification within 90 days, and up-to-date immunization record
Key Competencies
Knowledge of counseling and psychotherapy principles, mental health and substance use education, crisis intervention, cultural competence, and proficiency with MS Office and electronic health records

Compensation & Benefits

This full-time position includes a competitive starting salary based on experience along with a comprehensive benefits package and professional development support.

  • Starting annual salary of $72,321.60 (DOE)
