Responsibilities

  • Screen potential participants for study enrollment, support informed consent activities, and confirm protocol-specific eligibility information with the research team.
  • Conduct scheduled participant follow-up visits, document source clinic charts, enter study data into electronic data capture systems, and address data queries in a timely manner.
  • Perform nursing procedures including vital signs, ECGs/EKGs, venipuncture, injections, infusions, and investigational product preparation or dispensing within RN licensure and study protocol requirements.
  • Collect, process, store, and ship laboratory specimens according to study procedures while maintaining specimen accountability and coordinating courier collection when required.
  • Schedule study visits, conduct appointment reminders, request and track medical records, maintain study logs and supplies, and assist with monitoring activities and site documentation.
  • Document and report adverse events, serious adverse events, protocol deviations, and non-compliance as required while completing study start-up training and supporting site initiation activities.

The Clinical Research Nurse works with the Site Manager or Director and Principal or Sub-Investigators to execute assigned studies according to protocol, company procedures, GCP, ICH guidance, HIPAA, applicable FDA requirements, and site SOPs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of Tennessee
