Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in Houston, TX

In Houston’s specialized addiction treatment programs, the Licensed Vocational Nurse occupies a distinct clinical niche that differs from floor nursing in hospitals or long-term care. The LVN’s daily work revolves around medically supervised detoxification and residential recovery, where medication administration, withdrawal observation, and rapid recognition of medical or psychiatric change are central. Because patients often present with both substance-use and co-occurring mental-health needs, the role demands familiarity with behavioral-health workflows and the heightened confidentiality rules that apply to alcohol- and drug-treatment records. Nurses who already hold a Texas LVN or LPN license and have completed at least one year in a behavioral health or residential detox setting are the candidates this type of position is designed to attract. The Recovery Village’s Houston campus places that specialized nursing function inside a structured treatment environment focused on addiction and dual-diagnosis care.
