Responsibilities

  • Deliver holistic, evidence-based nursing care to Veterans presenting with complex acute medical conditions.
  • Lead nursing teams through collaborative strategies and function effectively in formal team-leader roles.
  • Complete the full nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—for assigned patients.
  • Identify emerging clinical problems early and initiate proactive interventions during interdisciplinary rounds.
  • Advocate for patients and address ethical considerations within the inpatient care pathway.

Daily work centers on direct inpatient care while contributing to unit-level coordination and quality initiatives that support expanded operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must hold active Texas credentials and demonstrate leadership experience with complex inpatient populations.

Education
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program
License
Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Texas
Certifications
BLS and ACLS required
Experience
Demonstrated leadership in holistic care delivery and management of complex patients
Skills
Proficiency with the nursing process, team leadership, and electronic documentation systems

Compensation & Benefits

Pay is structured as an annual salary range determined by experience and qualifications, with additional incentives available through the contracting partner.
