Responsibilities

  • Supervise assigned clinical nursing staff, covering hiring, evaluation, disciplinary actions, termination, scheduling, and obtaining coverage.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate assigned clinical and nursing services while ensuring adherence to department standards and practices.
  • Pass client medications, train staff in medication administration and associated documentation, and observe patient reactions to medications and procedures.
  • Orient new staff, train them on policies and procedures, and assist cottage staff in making appropriate decisions about client health care needs.
  • Serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team to develop acute patient care plans, case management plans, and utilization review; plan and regularly re-evaluate patient care needs.

Additional duties include assisting with or developing departmental policies and procedures, implementing them, monitoring activities toward departmental goals, teaching clients and staff about health care topics and medications, treating and examining clients according to physician orders, providing verbal and written instruction for emergency interventions, assisting with daily Health Clinic operations, participating in quality improvement, and completing assigned clinical documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants must hold a current RN license and a bachelor’s degree in Nursing. A master’s degree and psychiatric nursing experience are preferred. The role seeks candidates with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
