Responsibilities

  • Plan clinical experiences and provide direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care to an individual or group of individuals.
  • Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with each student’s knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide documented feedback based on course objectives.
  • Orient to and maintain current knowledge of agency and clinical policies, procedures, and expectations with the assistance of agency personnel.
  • Correct and return homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, clinical paperwork, and other written work in a timely manner.

The clinical instructor implements the College’s philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching. The role includes making oneself available to agency staff, supporting student remediation as needed, keeping the course coordinator informed of student and agency issues, and contributing to program development, assessment, and campus retention efforts. Limited didactic content may be taught under supervision of the course coordinator.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation for this Chamberlain Visiting Professor campus position is provided on a per-assignment basis.
