Responsibilities

  • Assess patient status and determine the priority of the patient’s problems and needs.
  • Implement clinical nursing interventions and develop patient care plans to enhance outcomes.
  • Care for groups of patients in a fast-paced, high-intensity setting as part of an interprofessional team.
  • Evaluate, update, and revise the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes.
  • Serve as point of contact for patients’ care coordination throughout hospital departments.
  • Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and organizational policies.

Daily work centers on direct nursing actions that support assessment, intervention, coordination, and safe medication practice within the emergency department.

Graduate of an accredited Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)

BLS preferred at hire and required prior to direct patient care; ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire

One year of professional experience as a Registered Nurse; recent Emergency Department or Critical Care experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

Pay is presented as an hourly range consistent with local Mercy Health RN market data. A sign-on bonus is available for qualifying candidates.
