Responsibilities

  • Assess patient condition on arrival and throughout the encounter, prioritizing care based on clinical urgency.
  • Manage pain with regular reassessment and adjust interventions according to response.
  • Perform ordered procedures and continuous monitoring while documenting thoroughly and promptly in the EMR.
  • Anticipate evolving patient needs and respond rapidly to changes in status or requests from the care team.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge follow-up.
  • Coordinate real-time with emergency physicians and interdisciplinary staff to support timely disposition.

Documentation occurs in Meditech; experience with this system is preferred but not required for hire.

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must hold an active Texas RN license and meet minimum experience thresholds before beginning independent practice in the department.
