Responsibilities

  • Perform histories, physical examinations, and clinical assessments for trauma and acute surgical consultation patients in the emergency department.
  • Respond to Level 3 trauma activations and manage surgical consultations during weekday peak coverage hours.
  • Provide wound care, perform indicated procedures, and oversee boarded patients awaiting admission or disposition.
  • Coordinate discharges, arrange follow-up care, and support transitions between the ED and inpatient services.
  • Document encounters accurately in the EMR and communicate findings with attending surgeons, residents, nursing, and multidisciplinary team members.

Qualifications & Requirements

Candidates must hold current New York State Physician Assistant licensure and national certification. Prior surgical or inpatient experience is preferred; motivated new graduates with strong clinical foundations may be considered.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is determined by experience and academic rank, with an additional incentive bonus opportunity available.
