What This Role Offers Experienced LPNs

This position offers a community-based nursing environment for an LPN who prefers ongoing relationships with residents over the shorter encounters common in many outpatient or acute-care settings. The work combines clinical observation with day-to-day resident support, giving the nurse an opportunity to recognize changes in condition, follow established care plans, communicate with the care team, and contribute to continuity from one shift to the next. Because Discovery Commons Bethel Park provides both Personal Care and SHINE® Memory Care, the role also exposes nurses to residents with different levels of support needs within the same senior living community. This can be a practical fit for an experienced nurse who values consistency, resident familiarity, and collaborative care in a residential setting.

Practice Model Community-based nursing focused on continuity, resident familiarity, and ongoing health observation
Care Continuity Opportunity to become familiar with residents’ routines, care needs, and changes in condition over time
Resident Mix Personal Care residents alongside residents receiving specialized memory care services
Clinical Environment Residential senior living rather than an acute hospital or high-turnover outpatient setting

Before You Apply: What to Consider

Candidates considering this Pittsburgh LPN position should look beyond the hourly rate and confirm that the work pattern and care environment match their expectations. The role is part-time, requires the posted 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. schedule and every-other-weekend rotation, and is performed on-site in a residential senior living community. The position may be especially suitable for nurses who are comfortable with medication administration, electronic documentation, communication with families and providers, and the physical demands associated with supporting older adults. Candidates should also review the distinction between benefits available to part-time team members and the broader package offered to eligible full-time employees.

  • Consider this role if: you prefer part-time nursing work with a consistent afternoon-to-evening schedule.
  • Consider this role if: you are comfortable providing care in a residential senior living environment and working with older adults who may have memory-related needs.
  • Confirm before applying: your Pennsylvania nursing license, required nursing experience, weekend availability, and ability to meet the physical requirements of resident care.
  • Review carefully: the part-time benefits described in the posting, particularly where eligibility differs from full-time employee benefits.
